About me
I believe therapy involves both the willingness to be vulnerable, and the strength to put in those repetitions. Therapy is like a training gym, a place to unveil your "weird" side, and an opportunity to find yourself. It's a process of committing to making your life a little bit better, every time.
I have been practicing as a counselor for 5+ years and have experience in working with a range of issues, from trauma to LGBQ and transgender/gender nonconforming issues. I also have passion in working with substance abuse, anxiety, and relationship issues. I am interested in how we function our best in our given situation, and I believe that humans always have inherent potential for growth (even if we can't always see it).
My method involves Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), especially in a focused and brief. Every session involves an "experiment" and something that you decide is worthwhile to try on your own. Creating realistic and immediately achievable goals would be our first priority. At the same time, I'm excited to slow down and take the time to learn about you and your story.
