Maggie Thompson
About me
Hi I'm Maggie Thompson. I have been working for over twenty years as a clinical therapist with juveniles, adults, couples, and families. I use a solution-focused, experiential therapy style, focusing on areas of strength or need that are determined by the client. My style is supportive and inclusive and I use a variety of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness therapy, trauma-informed therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am non-judgmental and welcome people of all races, ethnicities, faiths, gender identities, sexual orientations, and political affiliations.
At an initial interview clients should expect to discuss with me their current strengths and struggles, any drug or alcohol use or history, any legal history, and their goals for therapy. I will make sure I understand the full depth and breadth of the client's issues, as well as history that would affect the client's current functioning. Clients should expect to leave their initial appointment with a clearer understanding of the goals and steps for future sessions.

Sometimes just messaging is what I need, especially with my schedule and she makes it work. Even though I know she has a lot of patients , she still takes the time to message me.

Misty is and excellent councillor. She listens to what you have say and does not judge you. I enjoy having her as a councilor

Misty Thompson is amazing! She picks up on things I try to bury but she is quick to catch them and asks thought provoking questions. She has made me think about parts of me that I wasn’t sure was there any more.

I would highly recommend Misty. She supported and guided me with some difficult issues surrounding my mother. Never judgmental, she asked relevant questions that made me think about facets of my problem in a new way. The coping and thought skills she provided are now a trusty part of my emotional toolbox. I always felt validated in our discussions, and she checked in if she hadn't heard from me lately. Thanks Misty, and stay beige!

Misty has made a huge difference with helping me understand what I’m dealing with in the moment. She has this way of getting me to see things from a diff perspective than the one I tend to be trapped in while I’m having difficulties with whatever I might be dealing with at the time.

Misty has been able to provide me with insight and tools I would not have been able to gain without her expertise.
