I have been employed as a Counselor since 2007. Since this time, I have supported many individuals and families obtain identified goals. Prior to entering the field of counseling, I worked as a Social Worker. As a Social Worker, I had the opportunity to nurture professional qualities that have aided in my transition to counseling.
Developing trusting relationships is the foundation of a positive counseling experience. I recognize and embrace the uniqueness in each of my clients. Although I practice from a theoretical background that includes person-centered and cognitive-behavioral models, I tailor my approach to address individual client needs. My counseling style is warm, accepting and encouraging.
Each of us has the capacity for personal growth. As we move through our lives, there are often moments when we feel lost, alone or uncertain about our future. Therapy is a wonderful opportunity to receive guidance and support. I have been successful in assisting children, adolescents and adults in this journey.

Darcel is the type of therapist that everyone dreams of finding. Good humans are in short supply and good mental health support seems even harder to find. And yet, I was instantly matched with her and it was the perfect fit. She's always there whenever I need her and is able to support me and call me on my crap in a way that makes me want to grow and work through my stuff. Sincerely one of the best humans in existence.

I have seen Darcel for almost a year now. She remembers my family members' names and our relationships. I feel that she really knows my situation and can motivate me as well as assist me in dealing with challenges. She often surprises me (in a good way) with the details she brings up that I have shared in previous sessions. I look forward to our chats and I feel as though we are making good progress with my situation.

Darcel is a wonderful therapist, she challenges you and has a unique way of helping you identify what you’re feeling. She asks questions and engages with you. I have worked with other therapists and sometimes I only felt they were listening but didn’t have much to say which left me feeling worse. I highly recommend Darcel as a therapist. She will work with you on short term or long term goals.

Darcel and I have only had a few sessions so far, but I can honestly say that she is a wonderful and validating listener, voice of support and reason, and an all-around excellent counselor. Even just in the past couple of weeks I have already managed to not only start to feel better, but literally take physical actions in making my life and my specific life situations better, and that is something that I had yet to do before interacting with her. Darcel has helped me to feel empowered and find the strength, courage, and desire within myself to take real-life action steps to make changes in my life, and I appreciate her so much for that.
