Kathy Blackman, LCSW
About me
I am a licensed clinical social worker since 1977. I have worked in a variety of challenging positions with many different people of varying profiles. Perhaps the most challenging clinical work that I have done is with sexually, physically and emotionally abused infants, children and adults both male and female. I have also worked in the field of developmental disabilities again from infancy to older adults. In this capacity I worked as a case manager supervisor for every intake case in region 7 of the State of Louisiana. This required that we work with families through an extensive evaluation process, case development and the procurement of required services to address their unique needs.

I have really appreciated Kathy Blackman's wisdom and experience as a therapist. She's very hard working and reads all my journal entries and responds to messages promptly. Her life experience makes me respect her, and she's good at giving me just the right amount of nudging to get me going on things without being a nag.

Kathy is a great therapist. She listens well and she is very insightful. She clearly has developed a lot of wisdom in her life, and she shares that wisdom with me. She is also a great cheerleader for me.

Kathy is very nurturing and I appreciate her so much. Even though we aren’t doing sessions right now, she continues to let me know I matter

Mrs. Kathy has kept better track of me than I have in our time together. Life got extremely busy and I wasn’t able to commit to therapy as I had originally intended. She kept in touch despite my lack of availability and response.

Kathy has a lot of experience, and is a wonderful person to speak with. Whatever the issue I want to discuss is, she listens to me and takes me concerns seriously. She gives me tangible, everyday tips that have helped me, as well as support and guidance in coping with less practical issues.
