About me

My name is Lul Haji-Mohamed, LICSW in the state of Minnesota. I have about 10 years of experience in the mental health field. My philosophy is to meet people where they are at and work in partnership. I recognize that an open and honest relationship between client and therapist can produce a positive effect in the therapeutic process and the level of acceptance demonstrated. I strive to reduce anxiety in order to increase engagement and connection, create a safe environment for discussion, and impart knowledge and facts about the various options and their implications.

I have worked with clients in various settings such as schools, intensive residential treatment, outpatient and homes. In addition, I have served diverse group of people in terms of race, socio economic, education, gender identity, sexual orientation, age and religious background. My work experience also includes working with people who carry diagnosis such as major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder. My areas of expertise are Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Grief & Self-esteem, Attachment Issue, interpersonal conflicts, and Stress management.

Clinical approaches: Attachment-Based Therapy, strength based, Solution focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, person-centered, holistic, multicultural and integrative. My goal is to bring a holistic approach to therapy. I believe in the power of healing through love and connections within the community people are part of. I try to balance between addressing immediate concerns and promoting empowerment, confidence and lifelong wellness with my clients. I approach therapy from a culturally responsive lens and believe in honoring cultural diversity and social justice. I believe together we must construct and cultivate our community collectively through the enrichment of our belonging and significance. I hope to provide a warm, safe, compassionate and culturally sensitive space utilizing therapeutic techniques that are specific to your struggles and goals to help you create lasting change. By creating a safe space where you can be vulnerable and honest, I seek to empower you to develop more compassion for yourself while navigating through life challenges. I will meet you where you’re at in your journey, discuss where you want to be, and support you until you get there.
