Adanna Smith-Wilson, LCSW
About me
I am a Clinical Social Worker and I have been a practicing therapists for over twelve years. I have worked as a Victims Advocate, Forensic Social Worker and a School Social Worker among other helping roles. I earned my Masters Degree at Columbia University School of Social Work and my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Manhattanville College. Throughout my graduate and post-graduate career I have facilitated the success of individuals and families with emotional and behavioral challenges and served as an advocate for indigent clients facing incarceration, immigration detention, homelessness and civil confinement. My clinical experiences have prepared me to work with culturally diverse populations and varying types of emotional and behavioral concerns. I have extensive experience in assisting individuals with chronic mental illness such as Anxiety, Depression and Bipolar Disorder. I also have experience assisting individuals who have experienced or are experiencing sexual trauma, domestic violence, relationship issues and stress from everyday life.
You may or may not be fully aware of the reason for your search for a therapist today but it is a start. Whether you are overwhelmed with emotions, anxiety, change or adjusting to something new, therapy can be beneficial. My approach to therapy is that our work will add and/or improve your skill sets and be used long after therapy. My goal is to empower my clients with the tools they need to help themselves.
I look forward to working with you!

Adanna is great! She offers a sound listening ear, asks insightful questions, and gives you space to work through your feelings. I found her when I was going through a difficult time and I’m so glad I did.

Adanna is an incredible therapist/counselor. I see tangible results, and I feel comfortable in our meetings. She gives me tools that I can use in my day to day that slowly but surely make the days better and brighter. I was suspicious of bon line counseling but I’m extremely grateful for all Adanna has done.
