About me
Hi! Looks like you are looking for a counselor. It is important you find the right person. Here is a little information on what I believe and my experience as a counselor.
I believe every person is inherently good and is working to become a better version of themselves. Sometimes assistance is needed to facilitate the changes you want to make. That's where I come in. I have a master's degree and 7 years of experience working with all ages on a variety of life concerns. I use a nonjudgemental, empathetic approach to counseling to make sure you feel heard and comforted while making hard changes. I believe counseling involves experimenting with new ways of thinking and living. I do not assign homework and say when it is due. Instead, I may give suggestions that you can decide to try or pass on.
Counseling gives you a chance to try new things with a trusted professional. I use express arts and play therapy techniques in counseling. This means I may suggest you bring in your natural talents into session and use them to facilitate growth. I may also suggest expressive activities as learning experiences. Don't worry if you do not believe you are artistic or playful. It is more about the process of creating than the finished result. I am also not here to grade or criticize you. Creative arts is just one tool I use to help you find your way.
Thank you for spending the time to get to know me. I hope I am a good fit for your counseling experience. Please send me a message with any questions you might have. Hope to hear from you soon!

Adrienne is wonderful. I can say exactly what I think in our sessions without feeling like I’ll be judged for anything, feeling like a burden etc. Like I sometimes do in my daily life. I really feel like she’s cheering me on and I’m grateful of how often she reminds me of my progress and affirms me when I’m handling things well and is patient with me and sympathetic when I’m not.

Adrienne is a great listener and is very affirming to anything you feel comfortable speaking about. She lets you guide the conversation and doesn’t ever pressure you to speak about anything you don’t want to. I’m very glad I started therapy with her!

I only recently started using BetterHelp. Adrienne Ahr has been wonderful. She offers insight and comfort in knowing that I am being heard. I'm thankful for her help with additional resources and giving me feedback that helps me power through my day.

I have only had one session so far so it is a little early to give feedback. I enjoyed the session we had and appreciate the honest and non judgemental dialogue. I felt comfortable speaking freely within the first few minutes. The questions I answered neutral for are only due to the shortness of our relationship. I have no doubts that after additional sessions Adrienne will have a good understanding of what needs additional attention and will be able to provide me with feedback and steps to help reach my goals.
