About me

Ever since I was 12 years old I knew that I had a passion for helping people. I started working in a daycare, moved to school settings, and continued moving up from there. I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health and addictions field. I have been fully licensed for 10 years. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree and a double major in Psychology and Addiction Studies from Alverno College in 2007. In 2010, I received my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling with a minor in Addiction Studies. I'm originally from Wisconsin but I've been in Tucson for over 2 years. I have my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in Wisconsin and Arizona. I also have my CSAC (Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor) in Wisconsin as well.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I've worked in a lot of settings including; online, inpatient, outpatient, residential, in-home, in the community, comprehensive treatment centers, corrections, and schools providing mental health therapy, addiction counseling, parenting skills, daily living skills, and anger management. I've facilitated groups, worked with couples, families, and 1 on 1 therapy. I incorporate several methods including; EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. You've taken that courageous first step, you're here. When you are ready to take the next step, click the "Work with me" link.

I look forward to supporting and empowering you!
