Alana Banks, LCSW, LICSW
About me
Life can be unpredictable and adjusting to life transitions presents unique challenges that may cause feelings of uncertainty, confusion, abandonment, emptiness, isolation, irritability, hopelessness, distrust, anxiousness or moments of frustration. We all have STUFF that sometimes gets in the ways of living a beautiful life. Therapy helps and emotional healing is possible.
As a licensed therapist in Texas and Massachusetts, I have more than 10 years of professional experience working with emerging adults, single parents, caregivers, older adults and couples in a variety of settings. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, client-centered and strength-based with attachment and trauma theories as a foundation. I have extensive experience implementing evidence-based modalities to effectively treat anxiety, depression and trauma disorders, incorporating specialized training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing techniques. I work collaboratively to customize a tailor-made plan to support a holistic wellness journey to discover healing and transformation with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, grief & loss, life transitions, stress management, intimacy and sexual empowerment related issues. It is my promise to always offer a safe, warm, and inviting space to share and explore your story reflecting on the patterns of past and present challenges leading you toward renewal, growth and a value-driven life of transformation.
I welcome the opportunity to support you on your wellness journey!
