About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Texas. I have 18 years of professional experience in mental health, case management, and training & education. I have ample experience in helping clients with depression, stress, anxiety, grief, self-esteem issues, addictions, trauma, abuse, & anger among many other mental health issues and disorders. I am fluent in English and Spanish. I am very empathetic and my number one goal is to create an open and safe environment where my clients can share thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement. I am laid back and in my professional interaction display cultural competence and humility with every one of my clients. I understand that everyone is a unique individual, with a diverse background, who may not share commonalities with me. I am always open to learn about my clients background, and by no means will appear to be the expert in their life experience. I want to have my clients feel welcomed and supported through their many diverse life stressors. I do not take a cookie-cutter approach to therapy, but instead, focus on the client as an individual, and tailor a therapeutic intervention that will best help my client in feeling supported while they work on achieving their therapeutic goals. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes a lot of courage. I want to be the first to commend you for taking this step and look forward to getting to know you and forming a strong therapeutic alliance.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Aleida Chavez. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Aleida has been a lifesaver and trusyed confidante for over a year. I shudder to think where I might be without her today. She's kind and thoughtful, knowledgeable, caring and timely in her communication. I would 100% recommend her to anyone. Although she's a tough act to follow if you have to replace her for any reason

Aleida helped me out tremendously and pretty quickly in the time that I had her as a therapist. In the past when I tried therapy, I didn’t feel that the therapists that I tried out were quite right for me, for one reason or another. With Aleida I feel that she stood out from them and seem to generally understand where I was coming from and I found her to be not only relatable, but also refreshingly genuine. From the beginning I really valued the insight that she offered. I’d highly recommend her to anyone else looking for a good therapist!

Aleida has helped me tremendously. She has helped transition me from a place of complete instability and hopelessness, to a place of inspiration and increasing stability. She is a great listener. She listens to understand, not just respond. She understand my thoughts and emotions in all of their complexity. Out of 4 therapists in a year, she is the first one to click with me and offer the kind of care I’ve been looking for. Not only does she offer kindness and support, she’s very good at helping me understand thing from a clinical perspective, which helps me gain awareness of symptoms and change my behaviours. I would highly recommend her!!!

I have been seeing Aleida for about 16 months now; my case is mainly Complex PTSD. Aleida has been invaluable in my life; a compassionate therapist who listens, acknowledges and provides a heartfelt approach to have grace with oneself, try again, and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Aleida has always been on time, always responded promptly, and even has gone out of her way when things were really bad (which happened often). So to say things as they are and how Aleida has been a superhero therapist in my journey managing so much complex trauma from childhood, and which naturally needs a lot of time to unfold and heal, is the only right thing to do. I can definitely say that I am healing thanks to Aleida’s incredible and consistent support. I was so lucky to be matched with this phenomenal, non-judgmental, and gracious counselor who might very well be one of the main reasons I am still alive today. Thank you, Aleida. <3

She is an active listener, kind, non judgmental. But she cares that you take active steps in your healing. She's super knowledgable and I learned a lot from her expertise.

I think Ally is great! In just one session she was able to give me a different way of looking at a situation that caused me so much upset and unrest. In doing this, I am able to deal with the situation in a way I never thought possible. I am so glad I found her!
