About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in rural Western North Carolina, with over 30 years of experience. I specialize in working with trauma and abuse, grief and depression, anxiety, and relationship struggles. While in private practice now, I have worked in mental health clinics, a family couseling clinic, hospice, and in an Army military setting with domestic violence.

Life can be so difficult sometimes, and often it helps to talk to someone other than a friend or family member to sort through problems. I can start with you right where you are and assist you in working through whatever problems you are currently facing, or with issues from the past that seem to continue to bother you in your life.

I think that you will find me to be warm, empathic, non-judgmental, and caring. I would like to help you on your journey to feeling better about or resolving whatever situation you are struggling with.

Amanda not only listened to me attentively throughout our sessions but also provided me with other ways of thinking about the feelings or interactions I had experienced that week. She was extremely helpful in my battles with self-esteem and her willingness to keep all forms of communication open was very kind.
