Amanda Dunn, LPC
About me
My name is Amanda Dunn, MA, LPC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. I have worked in the mental health field for 5 years, primarily in outpatient settings. I have the most experience working with teens, young adults, new parents, and those who are struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, and processing past trauma.
My counseling style is warm, eclectic, and client-centered. I uses a variety of approaches to best meet your needs and I often pull from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and more to target your areas of concern. I find I focus on each person as an individual and love to take a collaborative approach with you to find the best way to meet your personal goals. I believe in authenticity as a part of the therapeutic approach as a way to connect and cooperate with you.
"People cannot change other people, only themselves." - Unknown. I believe this quote is important when considering if you are ready for therapy. As a therapist, I am happy to walk along with you on your journey and provide you with information, education, support, and kindness as you make the changes you are ready to.
I believe anyone can benefit from counseling and taking that first step can be intimidating and well worth it!

Amanda is a wonderful counselor! She expresses lots of kindness and empathy in each session, which shows how much she genuinely cares for her clients. She is incredible at remembering details about what you tell her, which is an important characteristic in a counselor because it makes you feel very heard. I would definitely recommend her!

Amanda is very positive and encouraging. Her follow up has been helpful as I have been having "off" weeks, and I forget to check in. One recommendation I have would be to spend a little time reviewing different ways to communicate on BetterHelp. I didn't know about the voice record feature until about 2 months in, and that has been a game changer.
