About me

I'm so happy you find yourself here in this moment. Reaching out for help is hard. It takes a lot to act on that little whisper inside saying maybe it's time to talk to someone about whatever it is going on in life. I want to applaud you for taking that step and hopefully I'll be there when you take the next one and start the work. I've worked in a variety of settings from community behavioral health, domestic violence services, healthcare, and with veterans. I also provide support and assist caregivers for those experiencing dementia specifically.

I provide a person-centered and strengths-based approach that focuses on centering your priorities whatever they may be. I believe you are the expert in your life and am just here to support you as we work together in a collaborative therapeutic relationship.

I know it can be challenging to find the right therapist and you may have had some negative experiences in the past. Whether it is developing new coping skills, working through grief, or setting some boundaries in your relationships. I'm here when you're ready to reach out. Please contact me with any questions.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Amanda Sholty. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I have worked with other therapists in the past, but for the very first time, Amanda makes me feel heard. I feel like I'm the focus of her attention during each interaction. She gives me feedback that I can truly use, and isn't afraid to point out perhaps I need redirected. I appreciate that. I am so happy to have discovered Betterhelp, and even happier that they placed me with Amanda.

Amanda is very good at listening and understanding where I am currently as well as honing in on my goals and helping to bring them to the forefront of my focus and giving me clear achievable goals to work towards weekly to ensure that I feel progress. She is empathetic, non judge mental and offers reflection. I feel confident in her ability to balance listening and offering support and letting me navigate my struggles while feeling supported and in control. I am grateful for her guidance and listening ear.
