Amber Stark, LCMHC, LPC
About me
Hey there. My name is Amber. I appreciate you taking the time to view my profile. I have been in the mental health field since 2006 and have been a licensed counselor in North Carolina since 2016. I am also a licensed professional counselor in Arizona. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2005 and a Masters of Arts in Counseling in 2015. I have had the opportunity over the years to support others with addressing concerns with depression, stress, anxiety, self-esteem, family conflicts, compassion fatigue, and parenting issues.
It is important to take time to understand what is not working or is challenging. I want to really understand this from your perspective. I also want to learn about your strengths and what has worked for you in the past. Keeping this information in mind will help to develop a path to get you to your desired outcome. I have found that cognitive behavioral therapy is a helpful approach to address life challenges and/or circumstances. I have experience in other models/approaches as well and can adapt based on your needs. This is about you!
I like to view a person as already having the solution within them. Perhaps they only need a little support and guidance to bring that to the surface. Most of the time we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for. Sometimes it is helpful to have someone alongside you to take those first steps. I offer to stand shoulder to shoulder with you in this journey.

My first time having therapy in anyway. Amber has laid out her guidelines in a meaningful way, so I understand the best way to communicate with her, and I feel very confident in her skills as a therapist and very much look forward to continuing battering my mental status.
Thank you, Amber

My sessions with Amber have helped me tremendously! She listens and cares about me and my goals. I had nearly given up on counseling as I’ve seen almost a dozen therapists/counselors in my life, but never felt comfortable sharing everything until now. I’d highly recommend speaking with Amber!
