Dr. Amy Clayton, LCSW
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California with a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology. I have been working as a therapist for over 21 years. I have worked in outpatient as well as inpatient settings, including hospitals, clinics, group homes, and private practice. Many of my clients are high achieving people who find themselves surprised to be struggling with a problem. By drawing upon their strengths, I assist them in making meaningful changes that can make a significant difference in their lives. My clients bring a wide range of concerns to my office. I often see people who are experiencing problems with anxiety, depression, loss, grief, stress, substance abuse, relationship problems, and family dynamics. My goal as your therapist is to help you regain your self-confidence and help you succeed on your own. My treatment approach is to provide solutions through support and helpful feedback to assist clients with confronting recent life challenges or exploring longstanding patterns that have left them feeling stuck. Blending a variety of therapeutic techniques, I tailor my approach to the individual client to help them overcome their roadblocks to success and promoting their independence.
