Amy Florence, LCSW
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, i.e. therapist, licensed in Pennsylvania and New York (only serving clients within those states) with over 12 years of experience working as a counselor in a clinical setting. For seven years I was working with hospice patients and their families. For the past five years I have been working with clients in a non-profit clinic. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues, parenting problems, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
My therapy style is warm and interactive. My passion is helping others become the best they can be. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, person centered, mindfulness, and brief solution focused therapy. I will work with you to create a treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
You have made the first and most important step. I would be honored to walk with you on this journey.
I look forward to working with you!

Amy is incredibly thoughtful in how she interacts and responds during our sessions. I know that she’s keeping my best interest in mind at all times, and she isn’t afraid to call me out on my unhealthy coping mechanisms (in the nicest and most professional way possible I promise)! I really appreciate how real she is with me, and that she treats me like a normal person. Amy is the best!

I love Amy! If she wasn't my therapist I'm sure we would be the best of friends. I wouldn't trade her for anything.

Amy is the best therapist I have ever had. She offers excellent advice, listens to everything you say, and provides tools you can use in your every day life. Amy really cares about your life and what you are going through and genuinely wants to help. I would 100% recommend Amy to anyone who needs a therapist or counseling, and I don’t know what I would do without her knowledge and advice!
