I am a licensed clinical social worker with 20 years of experience working with people of all ages. I have worked with clients who are experiencing a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, struggles with parenting, adjustment and career challenges and grief and loss. I also have experience working with people who have experienced trauma and abuse.
My counseling style is strengths based and client centered. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy and task-centered therapy. My counselor Amy is awesome. She is very down to earth and non judgmental. Whenever I talk to her she gives me words of wisdom for my situation even if it is just one sentence in the time we have for a session or in messages during the week. I always have a tool to use until the next time we speak along with the others she has given. She checks in on me to see how things are going or just to impart an encouraging word. Amy understands where I am coming from in my opinion. I wish I could give her a hug after every session that is how awesome she is to me! This is my first time ever talking with a counselor and it has been an awesome experience!!! I was so hesitant to do it online and over the phone because I didnt know if I would have a good experience but I am glad I did. I am so thankful to be matched with Amy!!
