Amy Sapien, LCSW
About me
I am licensed in Florida with 20 years of professional work experience. I have a Bachelors of Social Work (minor in Psychology), Masters degree in Social Work, and a professional license that includes two years of clinical supervision and a very hard exam and yearly continuing education classes.
I worked hard and got a 3.89 GPA. I chose social work because I wanted to help people and leave the world a little better if I can.
I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, depression, end of life issues & coping with life changes.
I also have personal experience with adult and childhood cancer and compassion fatigue common to helping professionals.
I have directly worked with adults, teens, Veterans, Active Duty military, homeless families, victims of domestic violence, persons with developmental disabilities, paralyzed clients, clients with MS or ALS, and clients with significant mental health issues.
I’ve also worked extensively with caregivers. I’ve worked with adults caring for ill children or adults. I’ve also worked with kinship caregivers: adults caring for minor children from their extended families.
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.
I am a liberal and secular therapist who believes love is love.
Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
As an LCSW in Florida I am only legally allowed to provide counseling services via video (not chat or telephone).
