About me
I'm a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC) licensed in the state of Kansas. I have over seven years’ experience working with adults providing individual therapy implementing Crisis Intervention, Solution Focused Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I earned my Masters in Social Worker at Wichita State University in May 2014. I have worked with individuals struggling with a variety of mental health concerns to include symptoms of depression, anxiety, Bipolar, personality disorders, and Schizophrenia related disorders. I have assisted those struggling with substance use disorders and have referred for inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment. My approach to therapy is Humanistic, meaning I believe individuals are always in a state of becoming and striving towards being the best version of themselves. I aim to help empower my clients identify their strengths to help them achieve personal goals, while also working towards accepting that they are human and worthy of love, patience and forgiveness. I enjoy hearing the stories my clients have to share and learning of the journeys they have traveled that have brought them to the here and now. I have been trained in providing Trauma Informed Care, so I aim to provide a sensitive approach to assisting individuals achieve their goals while also remaining vigilant to the difficult circumstances that have thrown a wrench in plans made. I look forward to hearing your story and collaborating with you to help you be the best version of yourself.
On the personal side I'm a boy mom, a dog mom, a wife, sister, daughter, and Army veteran. I enjoy cookouts, spending time with family and friends, reading, binge watching the latest hits and watching the latest blockbusters.
