About me
Thank you for taking time to learn more about me as a therapist, as you contemplate taking this important step toward attending to your own wellbeing. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois with 10 years of experience as a therapist. I would describe my approach as warm and compassionate, but I will also challenge you when needed. My ultimate goal is to help you gain the tools and insight to live the life you want. I meet my clients where they are and work collaboratively with them to develop a plan for getting them where they want to be. I believe establishing a strong working relationship and attending to the therapeutic alliance is a key aspect of successful therapy. That is to say, we will work together to get you where you want to be and will have an open dialogue to be sure your therapeutic needs are met.
I offer counseling for individuals with trauma/abuse, personality disorders, mood disorders, LGBTQ related concerns, addictions, and anxiety disorders. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory; however, I pull from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, and Mindfulness to help my clients gain the tools needed to face whatever challenges arise.
I look forward to working with you and want to commend you for taking this step toward personal growth.
Best,
Andrea

I love having Andrea as my therapist, she is someone I trust to open up to, and continues to help me show up for myself and be better towards myself.

I have been seeing Andrea for a little over a year and it has been so helpful. I feel like she really understands me and helps me to feel like I’m not alone in what I deal with say to day. A lot of things I have learned from my sessions have been beneficial to my overall wellness and I always look forward to my sessions with her.

I have written many review for Andrea already. In fact, it might be worthwhile for you to track this information so a patient is not asked to write review after review for the same person.
But that is an issue with the functionality of your website and app, not Andrea.
Andrea has been a lifesaver for me. She is caring, direct, and a source of constancy in a life severely debilitated by trauma and chaos. In the past several years, I have been a fight for my life and existence. Andrea has helped me salvage and cultivate the tiny scraps of self confidence I was left with.

She is an absolute sweetheart and definitely listens to you, but is not afraid to speak up when she notices something or if she needs to point out something, even if it may challenge your feelings or possibly make you have uncomfortable realizations. But even so, she does it very respectfully and is never mean. I had a hard time trusting therapists for years after bad experiences, but I swear I trust her with my life. She is absolutely amazing and I would recommend her especially to anyone in a heartbeat. She understands trauma well and won't try to shut you down and invalidate your feelings, unlike a lot of other therapists who don't really understand how abuse related trauma affects a person.

Andrea has been the best therapist I have had. Even when I would go to the office physically, I never quite felt like I was understood. Andrea has a way of asking very profound questions that encourage you to think about really important things. She listens. She ponders. She wants to help you see your potential. She cares!
