Andrew Leighton, BACP
About me
My first priority is to build a good relationship where you feel safe and heard. I have a compassionate, empathic and non-judgemental approach to psychotherapy, which helps create the therapeutic relationship for your journey towards improved mental health and well-being. Whilst the sessions will primarily led by you to allow personal exploration, I will help guide and work with you to to unpack the narrative and identify any limiting beliefs, life scripts or mindset etc, that may be keeping you stuck.
I have training and experience as a BACP registered Integrated Psychotherapist dealing with various issues such as addictions, bereavement, anxiety, depression, divorce/separation, body dysmorphia, low self-esteem, and much more. Being an Integrated Psychotherapist allows me to utilise various approaches and skill sets and to tailor these to your individual needs. I have trained in modalities such as Person Centred, CBT, Gestalt, Narrative and Attachment.
I have further training in coaching, mindfulness, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) which broadens my therapeutic toolbox. I integrate these into my practice where appropriate to help you address your issues and achieve personal growth and healing.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Andrew Leighton. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I have never felt as "heard" as I do when speaking to Andrew. He is able to listen as well as ask pertinent questions to help me dig deeper and understand more. He is very good at relating things I say, which at the time feel random to me, back to concerns I had brought up previously in a way that helps me to understand my behaviours and thought processes. He has also provided a lot of really useful resources to help me better learn the concepts we talk about and put things into practise between sessions.
