About me

Hey, my name is Andrew.
I enjoy staying active in my free time and my hobbies include running, hiking, reading, and writing. Family and travel are important to me. I have been working in the mental health field for a little over 8 years. I have worked in a jail diversion program for teens, a residential evaluation hospital for children and adults, and a community-based program for at-risk children, teens, and their families. I believe that as humans our identity is very important for our well-being. Understanding our personality in terms of genetic and spiritual factors, our family dynamics, and social connectedness is essential. Having a healthy and positive perspective of ourselves, our lives and our relationships with others can have a big impact on mental health.
Our thoughts can be very powerful and I believe they can be a starting point for achieving our highest potential. For this reason, my therapeutic approach emphasizes interventions from Positive Psychology and Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. My approach is informed by many treatment modalities including Adlerian Individual-Based Counseling, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Collaborative Problem-Solving, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Therapy. Therapy is also supported by measurement-based care and informed by neuroscience.
In our work together we will take a look at your strengths, likes, and interests and work to maximize them, while also taking a look at daily routines that can build skills in areas of struggle.
