About me

Hello. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I attained a Master’s Degree in Social Work at Walla Walla University in 2010. I have 15 years experience in mental and behavioral health working with people of all ages in both addictions and mental health. For the past 6 ½ years, I worked at the VA helping Veterans address symptoms associated with PTSD, Insomnia and nightmares, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, chronic pain, addictions, psychosis, and other mental health disorders.

I am a transpersonal therapist which means I take a holistic, therapeutic approach that incorporates spiritual wisdom and traditions with modern psychotherapies to promote healing and growth. I use a variety of evidenced-based and best practices such as: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT and CBT-CP (VA certification in chronic pain management using CBT)), and Motivational Interviewing techniques along with cultivating greater spiritual awareness to enhance interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, and increase meaning and purpose in ones’ life. Overall, value is placed on self-awareness and open-mindedness for both the therapist and client in an honest, mindful, and non-judgmental space. Let’s take a healing journey together starting right where you are at to reach your goals and achieve more meaning in your life. I look forward to meeting you!

I really love working with Angel and am really sad to see her go to other things. She has guided me in learning to accept my feelings instead of fighting them and live with myself instead of being my own worst enemy.

Angel always listens, analyzes and responds very appropriately, paying close attention to details you may have overlooked that are leading to strains on your mental health. She has a very kind way of breaking down and explaining behaviors that matches your level, so it is never condescending or overly simplistic. Her observations may not always be easy to hear at first, but they are always very helpful in helping you make the necessary changes. I highly recommend Angel as a therapist.

Angel is deeply empathetic and her contributions to the conversation are thought provoking. She has given me excellent tools and shown me how much choice I actually exercise in my outlook.

From our very first session I knew it was going to be different from anyone else that I had seen before. I’ve had great therapists, but something just clicked with Angel. I think what makes a great therapist is someone who is open to meet the client where they are at. Understanding that everyone is an individual and the approach will have to look different for everyone. It’s the first time I’ve been open to exploring things I’ve always noticed about myself and Angel creates the environment for that. I’ve never been excited for sessions, I usually dread them, but with Angel I just want to keep talking and learning.

I clicked with Angel right away. She is compassionate and kind in her approach, and she's not afraid to tell the hard truth for the betterment of growth. Glad we were paired!
