Angela Burnett
About me
Hello! Thank you for looking more closely at my profile. I am grateful that you would like to know more about me as I look forward to meeting you! I am a licensed professional counselor in North Carolina. I have been practicing for 4 years. I have experience working in schools, private practice, and hospital settings. I have experience working with clients inclusive of adolescents, teens, and adults across the lifespan who struggle with issues related to life transitions, relationship issues, and managing symptoms related to anxiety and depression. I also support clients who have endured the effects of trauma, grief and loss, as well as self-harming behaviors and suicide ideation.
My eclectic therapeutic approach to therapy stems from my background and training in humanistic approaches including somatic experiencing, mindfulness techniques, cognitive behavior therapy, person-centered therapy, existential therapy, and narrative therapy. My approach to counseling is to focus on connection with the client by creating a warm and genuine therapeutic space where clients feel safe to explore and grow at their own pace.

Leigh is warm, compassionate and very validating. By far the best, healthiest therapeutic relationship I have had in a longtime.

Leigh has been wonderful! She challenges me to think about things from different viewpoints, to think about what I need out of a situation or to move forward from a situation, and ways to implement those needs. She truly listens and cares!
