Angie Stewart, LCSW
About me
Hello!
My name is Angie Stewart. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and completed my Masters in Social Work degree at California State University, Long Beach. I am currently practicing in the state of California and have worked in the field of mental health and wellness for the past 9 years. Most of my time working in mental health and wellness has been with adults and older teens experiencing mental health disorders/issues. The majority of my work has been with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. The topics I am most versed in related to those disorders are mood regulation, self-esteem issues, attachment problems, and stress management.
I practice a few different approaches when it comes to therapy which include, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy. The approach taken will depend on your specific areas of focus and personality. We will come to learn these things as we get to know one another better through our therapeutic relationship.
Sometimes reaching out for help or guidance can be overwhelming and nerve-racking, and I want to assure you that I understand and acknowledge the vulnerability it takes to do so. I consider it a privilege to work with you and look forward to understanding you and helping you as best as I can!

Angie has been great. She remembers the conversations that we have and gives me good insight on the things that trouble me. She puts in the time to provide me work sheets when I have a problem and need help and gives me helpful advice. She even calmed me down during a panic attack when discussing my PTSD and I'm so greatful. I was so hesitant at first to try therapy but now I realize it's exactly what I needed to face my problems and my depression. After having only two sessions and being able to write her whenever I need has made a huge difference for me bc I no longer feel depression weighing on me anywhere near what it did.
