About me

Hi, my name is Ann Bruckelmeyer. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with 22 years of experience. I've worked in various mental health settings as an employee assistance counselor, crisis interventionist and therapist both inpatient and outpatient for people struggling with mental illness and substance abuse. I've received grief and loss training with Hospice. I also enjoy helping people with relationship issues and anger management.

I incorporate a number of helpful techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Didactical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Emotional Freedom Technique- EFT Tapping, Somatic mind/body work utilizing a spiritual heart centered meditation approach and have experience with non-violent communication (NVC) whose founder is Dr. Marshall Rosenberg. I value warmth, compassion and an open minded approach in working with individuals. My counseling style and approach is Holistic/Integrative.

My philosophy of counseling is based on the belief that when the heart is healed, everything else tends to follow. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and assist you.

I look forward to working with you!

I have worked with Anne for several months, and I cannot thank her enough for the help and expertise she provided each session. I can truly say due to her methods and advice I have really grown as a person and learned how to manage my anxiety and OCD better. My quality of life has improved being able to work with her and have weekly therapy sessions. She handled each session with such compassion and was consistently offering new ideas and things to work on to help me with my problems. She is very adaptable too by understanding who I am as a person, and what things I needed to have the most beneficial sessions. I would highly recommend Anne and I know I will return to continue maintenance on all the progress she has helped me make.

She’s really taken the time to analyze me and understand me. She is willing to change the therapy method to best suit my needs. I feel like she really cares about others and really does wish to help other grow and reach their goals. She has made helped me acknowledge my triggers and opened my perspective what I’m responsible for and what I need to let others take responsibility for. I enjoy our conversations because she’s easy to speak to. She helps me deal with the emotion i am feeling at the time. She’s explained so much to and I’m glad I took this step in my self healing journey.
