About me

Hi, my name is April Brown, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with you on your journey to self empowerment, life balance, and overall happiness and well-being. I have been a practicing therapist since 2013. I currently hold a license in associate counseling and specialize in trauma, domestic abuse, substance abuse, and general mental health. I have worked with children, adolescents, as well as adults. I have also had the opportunity to work with individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. I use a combination of different types of therapies including CBT, DBT, and person centered solution focused therapy. I graduated with a BS in psychology from the University of Phoenix and received MS from Capella University in Human Services with an emphasis on Mental Health Counseling. Prior to my career in counseling, I worked for the Department of Human Services for the State of Arizona. I have also worked for a health insurance and was a personal trainer for 10 years. Overall mind and body wellness has been a passion of mine since I can remember.
