About me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California, Missouri and Texas with over 5 years of experience working as a psychocounselor, behavior modification specialist and life coach. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, substance use, LGBT-related issues and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and narrative therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Arkila Covington. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Im the one coming to Arkila, essentially a stranger, with a litany of my woes, and she’s brought me to attention with tight and thoughtful suggestions that seemed to quickly set me straight. Whereas i thought everything was bleak, she showed me I just needed an alignment.

I really enjoyed my therapist. She is knowledgeable, she tries different approaches to see what works best for me and she is patient with me. I also like that she holds me accountable. Further, her calender is flexible to meet my scheduling needs. I always leave her feeling better than when I came.

Awesomeness, listens, guides, and gives you time to think and mature on your own. (guidance of course).

Arkila is an amazing Therapist! Not only is she extremely professional and knowledgeable, but talking to her is like talking to a friend. She gets down to the root of the problem, checks in with you in the week, and sends you things or says things to make you think in a way where you see things differently. She has helped me overcome an extremely hard, an emotional chapter of my life that also was supposed to be a Milestone in my life as well. We have gotten to the point where we are shifting my perspective and thought from a negative direction into hopefulness and excitement for the future. With January being the beginning of the year we have been focusing on goals, not only does she help you learn to create goals with your therapy journey but she also helps you create goals in your personal and professional life as well. She truly has a gift and talent for her career and it really shows she cares to make a difference. She genuinely wants to see her clients succeed and just like a family member or friend, I feel she is always waiting with advice when your ready for it. I highly recommend you give her a shot. Just in my 1st meeting with her quit a long time ago I knew she was the right choice, and I have stayed.
