About me
Someone once came to see me to discuss a very challenging issue in her life. It was clear that she had struggled with this issue for most of her life and that it had weighed heavily on her. The issue had begun to affect her family and she was clearly struggling. Over the course of the session I did my best to listen with empathy and try to understand the magnitude of her suffering. As I often do at an initial session, I thanked the woman for sharing her story with me and I expressed to her that I felt honored to be part of her journey. She responded “to be honest, I find you very easy to talk to.”
I was so pleased and humbled. It is always my main goal to put my clients at ease when they come to see me. I want a person not only to know but to feel that this is a safe space to explore their challenges and vulnerabilities as they share the story of their lives and struggles. For so many, it is the first time they have told their story to another person.
As human beings, it is almost impossible to avoid suffering. I feel honored to know that for the people that come to see me I am trying my best to help them find a path forward. It is an incredible privileged to watch a person transform their lives as they move from suffering to healing to living a life filled with joy and purpose.
