About me

What could you achieve if nothing was standing in your way?

You struggle with your relationships with others (family, significant other, friends, coworkers) where you don't feel heard or respected. You feel you're not taken seriously and are dismissed. You feel you're not seen as an equal or that you have much to offer. This leaves you feeling frustrated. Maybe you feel like crying, maybe you feel like screaming, or maybe you feel like crawling under the covers and hiding from the world. While the steps to reach our goals are simple, they are not always easy. It's our mindset that often gets in the way and tells us that we can't do something. Sometimes we are so overwhelmed and don't know in which direction to go.

You have a lot of demands placed on you as a woman, a daughter, a sister, a mother, a partner, a friend, and a worker. As women we take on a lot. No doubt you're struggling under all the pressure. I'm sure you feel you struggle to cope at times, drowning in a never ending to do list, feeling stuck, trapped, no sense of control, and having difficulty managing everything. Many women struggle to find their voice to help them get their needs met. We are often taught at a young age to be helpers, to be 'ladylike', not to say or do anything that will upset others. Where has this left us? We don't get our needs met and if we don't do so for ourselves, then who will?

Allow me to help you find your voice and set boundaries with others. I will help you do this by making you the author of your own story, helping you take back control, empower you, and provide you with the necessary tools to help you succeed. It's all within each of us, it's just a matter of finding it. We don't always know how to do so alone and it is ok to reach out for help and support. Your day to day life experience can be radically different. You can wake up each morning and look forward to the day ahead. I don't promise that it will be easy, but it will be worth it.

Change IS possible.

Ashna has been a wonderful resource for me. Her ability to listen but also play devils advocate to get me to think has been very helpful. She lets me go at my own pace and doesn't push any particular topics or that we have to do things a certain way - this has been very helpful for me to feel comfortable enough to start to deal with the things I have going on. I would highly recommend her to my friends or family.

I've only had a couple of live sessions with Ashna so far. But knowing she is there has been such an emotional boon. Knowing I can drop a message even if I just need to get something off my chest has been immense in my situation. I was really not sure whether I would do more than 4 weeks of counselling (mostly due to monetary concerns) but in a short time, I already know I want to stick around.

Ashna has been amazing. Patient, kind and considerate. She understands what I have come to counselling for (a safe outlet space due to personal situations) and encourages it.
