Barbara George, LCMHC
About me
I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Utah. I have a variety of experience working in hospital emergency rooms, medical floors and inpatient behavioral health units. For 10 years I co-facilitated Grief Support Groups for families who have had a loved one die. I received my Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling at University of Phoenix and my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Weber State University. My favored approach with individuals is Client Centered and Solution Focused. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness techniques to help clients bring balance back into their life. At the root of my practice I hope to provide clients with a safe, healing and growth oriented space where they can feel welcome and understood. The client will identify the therapeutic goals they would like to work on and together we can work on the barriers that may be standing in their way.

Barbara George is a very supportive counselor. Besides her obvious training she uses her own empath tools to guide her advice. This makes it easy to be open with her and trust that her support is in my best interest. She’s a very good listener. I highly recommend her as a counselor.

Barbara is an amazing counselor! She is extremely good at listening to all my thoughts and concerns and coming up with ideas and a game plan to work through those and move forward. She has shown me how to look at both sides of the situation so I have a full understanding of possibly why what happened or what was said etc. Im so glad I was pared with her. Its been an amazing experience! Every time we finish a session I feel relieved and ready to take on the world.
