Bersuada Saunders-Clarke, LMFT
About me
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Children’s Studies from CUNY Brooklyn College. My Master of Marriage and Family Therapy was attained from North central University.
On September 11, 2001, I started my first day on the job in a treatment program in New York. After the events of that day I realized the importance of continuing my work in helping others as a Human Services professional. I provided services to the Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled, children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and the family caregivers of these individuals. In my profession as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am committed to helping individuals and relational systems with the moments in life that need behavioral, mental health, and therapeutic processing. I support clients via Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness-based and Human Growth Therapy Models to assist them in managing maladaptive behaviors, methods of communicating thoughts and emotions, as well as improving mental health self-care. My cultural competence stems from my Caribbean heritage and from my interactions with different cultures and socioeconomic statuses while growing up in New York City. Residing in Fayetteville, NC, which is also home to people from varying nations as well as military culture, has continued to broaden my cultural awareness.
