Beth Donath-Tish, LCSW
About me
Hi, My name is Beth Donath-Tish. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New York. I received my Master's Degree from Fordham University during the year of 1990. I have experience working with teenagers and adults in a variety of settings. I have experience providing psychotherapy to adults at an Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic in NYC as well as seeing adults privately. I have also provided counseling support to teenagers residing at an Agency Group Home. The most recent experience I have is working with the School Based Support Team for the NYC Department of Education. My role is centered around conducting assessments for teenagers whom will be evaluated for Special Education Services in addition to At Risk Counseling, Mandated Counseling, 504 Mandate meetings that are centered around suspensions for students whom have an IEP (Individualized Education Plan).
I would describe my counseling style as supportive and empathetic. I approach counseling through a client-centered approach. I believe in meeting clients at the point where they feel most comfortable. Modalities I like to work with are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy and Psychotherapy. I also feel that I provide each individual with the utmost respect. I find importance in having a team approach where client/clinician come up with a plan that is best suitable for the individual.
I feel it is important as a good rule of thumb either a phone call or live meeting for at least our initial correspondence.

Meeting Beth and deciding to join better help is one of the best decisions I’ve made. She has truly helped me with my health anxiety and has made me feel more comfortable to speak freely than I’ve ever felt with any other mental health professional. I am looking forward to continuing to tackle issues that I have been dealing with my whole life and bettering who I am as a person. She is a truly a gifted therapist. Thank you for making such a great match.

Beth has such a way that makes you feel comfortable to speak your truth. She is supportive and understanding while also holding you responsible for your own actions. I appreciate that. I don’t want someone who is going to agree all the time, I need someone to call me out when I’m wrong also. Otherwise I wouldn’t grow as a person. Thank you Beth.
