Beverly Hicks, LCMHC, LMFT
About me
I have been in private practice for over 25 years. I'm credentialed as a LMFT and LCDC therapist in Texas and LCMHC in North Carolina. I provide therapy for adolescents, adults, couples and families dealing with a variety of mental health and addiction issues. My role is to listen, encourage, educate and empower.
My theoretical background is psychodynamic. I specialize in a variety of collaborative outcome focused approaches which include CBT, EMDR, trauma focused and client-centered. I believe providing a safe, warm, accepting and non-judgmental environment creates a platform for establishing a relationship and exploring the client's challenges and desired goals.
Finding a good fit in therapy is important. Establishing a rapport in which the client feels heard, needs met, goals established and a process put in place, enables the client to move forward in a healthy, positive direction.

Beverly is a great match for my issues. I feel heard, She offers advice which I accept even when I don't want to (yeah, it's an issue). Video conference is so familiar, I have no problem having ouur session by video.

Beverly is so intuitive and kind. I have had other therapists in the past who just sat down and waited for me to start talking and said very little, which didn’t feel worth the money. Beverly is not like that in the best way — she is a great listener, but also comfortable offering insight/advice and helping draw me out by leading the conversation while still giving me plenty of space to talk. I feel that she genuinely cares about me and my well-being rather than simply fulfilling a role/doing her job. She makes me feel supported and cared for and I could not recommend her highly enough.

Beverly is a wonderfully kind and thoughtful person. She listens with grace and compassion. I really appreciate her insight and wisdom. Her worksheets provide strategies for growth and working through the issues I face. I greatly appreciate her and would recommend better help because of her. She’s also reliable and a great communicator between sessions.
