I seek to assist persons in successfully finding their way through difficult circumstances and in building healthier emotional lives.
I grew up in a loving, hard-working, three-generational, Christian family. My life experiences include marriage, family, sports, carpentry, music, research, Emergency Medical Technician, mistakes, and continued progress. I earned the Master of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University and as an ordained Minister have served several congregations over many years. As part of that experience I earned the Master of Education, Counseling degree from University of North Texas, Dallas and have worked part-time for several years as a Licensed Professional Counselor in a Child Advocacy Center with children, teens, and non-offending adult caregivers.
My training and experience includes Cognitive Processing Therapy, certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Gottmans' Levels I and II, volunteer work in the PTSD unit of a Veterans Affairs facility, past certification in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, 12 years certification as an Emergency Medical Technician, and volunteer Chaplain in local ambulance services.
I respect each client as a person of sacred worth and am a good listener, seeking to assist the person in effectively managing difficulties and attempting to discover the underlying causes of chronic problems. This is fulfilling, life work for me, seeing others gaining in peace of mind, effective daily life, and healthy hope for their future.

I was nervous when first meeting Rev. Carpenter, but the nerves were soon replaced by a security that comes with having someone who is a wise, calm, and friendly counselor there for whatever twist life throws. I couldn't say enough about Rev. Carpenter.

Rev. Carpenter is one of the most encouraging individuals I have met. In any other situation, one might be discouraged, but his positive outlook on life allows him to see the nuggets of joy and hope in any dire situation. Quite impressive. In terms of the therapy, his experience is vast as well and he brings this wealth of experience to each counseling session. While each individual's situation is unique (mine: job loss, birth of child, financial and relationship hardships), my guess is that others will also find Rev. Carpenter's therapy sessions encouraging and transformative. Thank you.

Having a multiple decades long background being a minister, Reverend Bruce brings a level of empathy and concrete, extended experience that few other counsellors can offer. He has been trained in modern, secular therapeutic best practices and is licensed so you really get the best of both worlds when confiding in him.

He sees beyond the obvious truths into the deeper matters of what is going on weather small or big and gives intuitive insights and ask question to help reveal what difficult situations have hidden. Then just walks with you in the whole process. He’s quite amazing!

Rev. Carpenter, is a great listener. He literally gives me the space to frankly speak how I felt and I didn't feel judged, but rather heard. I appreciate his sound advice, gentle suggestions and warmth throughout our sessions. Honestly.

Rev listens not to respond but to truly understand and give the best possible advice. I feel safe opening up and not hold back anything as that is the best way this will work. Thanks Rev for creating this atmosphere even though we are a thousand miles away. God bless
