About me

Welcome to Better Help! In person, I offer a cup of water, we are wired for connection, not structured intakes, I bring a psychodynamic Lense and am genuinely interested in being educated on how to best equip the person in front of me.

On Better Help, I specialize in equipping men wrestling with concerns about their relationships, usually with their significant other due to having a history the past invading the present in that relationship.
In private practice, I work with first responders and members of the military who are wrestling with concerns about their mental and relational health. I also equip college students and young professionals with ADHD.

I also get to come alongside people suffering from depression and anxiety as well as equipping them to adjust to difficult circumstances.
I meet regularly with people suffering the internal ups and downs of bipolar like depression as well as those who turn inward when making decisions struggle personal and professional boundaries.

In hospital settings, I’ve worked on an intake team and other clinical teams to help people with personality disorders for ten years as well as with people who suffer from PTSD and CPTSD.

I also have the privilege to lead groups for men who wrestle with substance abuse and sexual addictions for five years.

As a counselor who also happens to have ADHD and dyslexia, I see my role as being to encourage mindfulness about how we impact by others in order to provide effective habits to equip people to be habituated to feel effective being the best version of themselves.

In case no one told you today, you are stronger than you feel, you are not a chemical imbalance, you are wired for connection, you are a person worth understanding and being understood. I look forward to working with you and for you.

Warmly,
Bryan Young, LPC

Bryan was awesome, we shared serious moments and laughs all the same, it was my first time ever doing therapy and I was very comfortable sharing with him. He was very direct and kept us on track when I tended to wonder and I really feel like he set me in the right direction

He has been great. Very patient and evidence-based and helpful. Gives me different ways of thinking about things, and pushes me to work through things on my own.
