Does Anthem blue shield pay for this?

I'm so glad that you've reached out for help! Insurances do not cover Betterhelp because it does not allow for a diagnosis. There has to be a diagnosis to bill an insurance provider. The system at Betterhelp is a membership with a fee associated with it by week or month. Some companies are allowing this type of help as an EAP-type service. You can check with your benefits about that possibility. However, you will not be able to be reimbursed by your insurance, unfortunately.

Betterhelp offers some financial aid assistance if you talk to member services, and there is a 50% off your first month due to Covid. 

There are other options if you cannot afford the help through Betterhelp. These options include support groups held at churches or within your community. There is also the possibility of finding an online group or chatroom/forum that talks about similar issues you might be experiencing. Overall, you are not alone in this journey; there are options for help if you cannot afford therapy through this application or other forms. 

Another way to find some excellent therapeutic content is through the use of youtube. Many videos about different therapy interventions, grounding techniques, and meditation exist. You can also find seminars about other topics, with ted talks being my favorite. You can also google search for many different types of interventions and activities to try to reduce anxiety/depression and other mental health symptoms. If you're dealing with something that needs immediate attention, never be afraid to go to your local hospital for help. 

To find out which providers your insurance covers, search the insurance website or call the member services number on the back of the card. Behavioral health is typically covered in some fashion by your insurance; it is just figuring out which route is the best for you personally and financially.
