How can I have a discount?
Hi Rocimar,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. Experiencing death of a loved one can be difficult whether or not the death was expected. There are stages of death that you may experience and it does help to have a therapist to help you along and process through these diffferent stages.
The therapist on BetterHelp, like myself, are not responsible for setting the actual prices or collection of fees for services rendered. I recommned that you email contact@betterhelp.com to discuss financial assistance. I hope that we are able to assist you during your time of need. Just in case we are not ther are also other ways to obtain help. I am not certain of your location and I am in the United States. The following answer are availabe options in the US and if you are located outside of the US perhaps you have simaliar programs.
1. If you are a college student there are colleges and universities that offer free counseling services to their students.
2. If you are in the workforce and have insurance you can contact your insurance provider for a therapist nearby to you.
3. If you work and do not have insurance the company you work for may still have an EAP (employ assitance program) that offers a few free counseling sessions.
4. There are stte agencies like local mental health centers that offer therapy on a sliding scale fee based on your income. Some pay nothing and others may pay as little as $2. The price varies.
5. You may qualify for government insurance that can assist you with therapy and any other medical need as well. Individuals qualify based off of income/salary.
6. I'm not certain of your faith but if you do practice certain faiths you may have someone in your faith community you can speak with. These individuals are not aleays trained therapist but still may be able to assist you in a time of need.
7. Identifty your support system and reach out to them during your time of need.
I'm sorry I could not give you an exact answer about having this service covered, but hopefully some of this information was helpful. I am sorry for your loss. Death is painful for those left behind and can have compliacted affairs that need tending to. I wish you my very best and hope you are able to get the help you need.
My best,
Cherri
