I am completely broken emotionally
Dear dear person,
There is no way to cut it, relocation/immigration... are very very very hard. If I just list the things that changed, it would take me 100 lines!
- Your language
- Your home
- Your favorite couch
- Your favorite coffee place
- Where you'd buy your clothes
- Who you see when you leave your front door
I mean the list is endless. If you worked, if you had a favorite doctor... Any and all of these things explain why you were crying, and it's not 'nothing'. It's always because you're in a brand new environment, and that's scary, and big, and uncomfortable.
Add to that that you also lost the people you were in touch with!!! That dear person, is a recipe for crying if I ever saw one!! You're allowed to cry, ALOT! You earned it.
The next step is to start building yourself your new life, based on new acquaintances that might one day become friends. Building faces that are familiar, so that eventually you can say hi to them, so that eventually you could ask them out to coffee.
It's hard, and .... overwhelming. But feeling alone is a recipe for disaster. So even join a church, or a zumba class as soon as possible. Volunteer at a local pet shelter, or see what free activities are happening around you. Even go to the local public library and see what they offer.
Building your circle is the biggest most important project you have right now. I know it's overwhelming and scary - but you need to feel not alone.
If you still have family in your origin country, also call them on a regular basis- so that you could recharge and let yourself remind yourself that some people still speak your native tongue, and that someone still loves you.
Having said all that - you're so so brave! it's a very big decision to move to another country, even when the idea is great, and even when it's for good reasons (a better life, curiosity, growth...) it's still very very very hard.
Maybe take a minute to think about all the hard things you've done over your life, and remind yourself that you're made of the grit and the courage and you could survive this! You are wonderful, and you could survive this.
All the best!
