Candace Buckley, LCSW
About me
Choosing a therapist can be quite difficult because you want to ensure there is a good fit so you are comfortable sharing personal information and receiving the assistance you are seeking. I hope you will allow me the opportunity to meet your goals. My name is Candace Williams and I have been an LCSW for over the past 20 years. I graduated from Columbia University in New York City with a concentration in Health/ Mental Health.
I am fortunate to have worked with many different people in many different settings. I have worked a wide range of adults from various backgrounds. My experience ranges vastly from being a first responder during September 11th to working in mental health clinics, private practice companies, hospices, and hospitals. In my private practice, I have addressed many various issues from mental health diagnosis to adjusting to new situations, work with sincerity, compassion and nonjudgement, addiction issues, dealing with grief, improving communication strategies, or talking out a complex decision. It is really important for me to help get to the root cause of an issue so that we do not just put on a band-aid but, instead, help you solve the issue for good.
I will provide a nurturing environment where you can talk candidly about your concerns. I do not practice just one type of therapy because I believe there are bits and pieces that work from each one. The trick is ensuring I am using a method that works best for you in a timely manner. A good therapist will meet you where you are and will think outside of the box. I promise I will ensure we work on your goals that best meet your needs. I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve you!

Candace is simply amazing! I have been to 2 other therapists in the past, but had to quit because it was getting nowhere! I usually feel worse and guilty after most sessions!
My experience with Candace so far has been great as she knows the right words to say and she gives great suggestions! I always look forward to our sessions as I feel much better afterwards! Thank you for being a great counselor and at this point, “a friend!”

Candace has a direct and honest approach that I need to be successful in therapy, because I don't believe I would be held accountable or be accountable to myself if I wasn't working with someone who cuts through the fluff and focuses on skills and strategies to reframe and reshape distorted and negative thinking. She remembers details about my life and is able to connect all the dots, despite how much information I've given her. I can feel my life getting easier to navigate and see progress. I look forward to continuing to dedicate my time and effort to a better life.

I have got more from one session with Candace than I have from months of therapy with a different therapist! My old one used to just sit and nod while I talked and cried, Candace gives me tips that can help with things like getting better sleep and not only acknowledges and validates my feelings but also helps me to identify the route cause and address it.
My only regret is I didn’t try BetterHelp sooner!
