About me
The human experience is a path of struggle and hardship. However, its also uniquely beautiful and worthwhile. Growth can be uncomfortable and awkward, but it’s also the foundation of self-evolution and growth. My goal is to help you process life events, trauma, mental health and acquire resilience. I take a holistic approach in managing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, life changes, and burn-out/compassion fatigue. I am a mental health advocate and believe in education to help reduce stigma and to help encourage growth. Working with adolescents, young adults, veterans, and first responders I understand that healing is not always a linear process and I take pride in meeting you where you are.
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity. If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path.” -Brené Brown

Carissa is very professional and offers great feedback. She listens and remembers what we were talking about weeks prior which is helpful since that helps tie in feedback most times. I would highly recommend her.

Carissa is a very kind individual who seems to have a lot of empathy and compassion for other people’s struggles. She has specifically really helped me break through my fear of showing emotion and has convinced me that therapy really does help and is worth it. Thank you

Carissa is awesome! She has been exceptional at listening to my issues and helping me to identify areas of improvement. I feel heard and understood in a way that I haven't felt in a long time. I feel so much more like my old self after even just a month of meeting with her. I can't thank her enough for how much she has helped me.

Carissa is wonderful! From the start, she’s professional and listens to understand, no matter how big or small my issue is. She’s offered me good perspective, some things to try, and follows up with me regularly. She has a calming presence and is easy to talk to. I’ve really enjoyed working with her.
