Carley Rothstein, LCSW
About me
I began my journey as an Exceptional Children’s teacher in a NC school district before running my own business as an academic tutor and behavioral interventionist and moving on to provide Community Based Rehabilitative Services for the NC infant-toddler program as an educational/developmental therapist while working collaboratively with the Children’s Developmental Services Agency.
I received a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Penn State World Campus and my Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Since becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have had the privilege of providing outpatient therapy to children and families with complex needs related to depression/anxiety, bullying, LGBTQIA+, foster care & adoption, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, self-harming and suicidality, as well as with children, teens and young adults with complex trauma. I have also provided school-based psychotherapy, as well as integrated behavioral health services to adults within medical or clinic settings, group homes, and assisted-living facilities to assist with processing changes related to aging, dementia related symptoms/behaviors, and assisting family members as their loved ones approach end-of-life.
I am an avid animal lover and advocate for the special needs community. When I'm not working, I spend most of my time laughing with my son and advocating for his unique needs related to his Fragile X Syndrome Diagnosis. We also enjoy playing with our two dogs, two bunnies, and traveling to visit family in the mountains.
I have enjoyed my career so far working with individuals across the life-span and believe in a client - centered approach to treatment. I hope to assist you on your journey toward a more peaceful, well-balanced life.
