Carly Andrews, LPC
About me
I graduated with my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. During my Masters internship I worked within a PCP clinic providing integrated behavioral consultation to patients who came in complaining of physical ailments that held roots in behavioral management. The mind and the body are one and equally impact one another in wellness. This insight greatly impacted my perspective when working with other populations as well. After I acquired my LPC certification, I spent my time working with individuals who experienced more severe mental illness such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bipolar disorders, major depression, and mixed psychotic features. This experience further facilitated observations of mind-body co-morbidity, systems dysfunction, and environmental stressors. Because of these observations, my approach is very holistic (looking at the "whole" of the person and "whole" system by which the person exists) and is person centered. In terms of therapeutic approaches, there is no "one size fits all" therapeutic approach, and thus, I try my best to get a sense of personality and perceptions before diving into technique. Sometimes I use the help of free assessment tools to gain a better picture of the person as well, if the individual is willing to engage in this way. I always want those in sessions to be an active participant in their own treatment planning, and for this reason usually utilize a collaborative approach to therapy and direction. People describe me as dedicated, intuitive, down to earth, and understanding. We all get lost sometimes, it's part of life. I will do my best to help you form the best map to get you to wherever you are headed. There are several paths to the same destination, but the path that works best for you can only be decided BY you. So lets figure out which path that is, together.

I have worked with therapists in the past and experienced some improvement, but never to this level. Carly is truly exceptional. I would recommend her to anyone looking to challenge negative thoughts, whether related to dating, childhood trauma, religious trauma, or simply wanting someone who understands what you're going through.
I genuinely mean this: if you want to work with someone who gets it and creates a safe emotional space for openness, Carly is that therapist. She provides valuable insights on how you can grow and heal effectively.
I give her a 10/10 in every aspect.

I don’t have many therapy experiences to go off of, but I have really appreciated an unbiased look in how to start to fix things like communication issues, and people pleasing within my life. It had made me realize everyone could benefit from therapy in one way or another, it’s hard talking to people you love about how you really feel, but having someone there to talk to has been wonderful. It’s only been three weeks, but I finally have some tools that I can implement in my every day life that makes it easier to go about talking to and treating the people I love in a better way.

I haven’t been seeing Carly that long, but all I can do is rave about her to my friends. She’s been so great for me already. She listens, gives helpful input, and sets reasonable goals. 10/10 would recommend!

As I continue to grow with Carly, I feel truly heard and supported with each interaction. I don't think I could have asked for a better counselor. She's helped me focus on going one step at a time, and has allowed me to discover more amazing things about myself in a way that I've knew experienced before. She's sincere and thoughtful in all she does, and I couldn't speak more highly of her. I am grateful that she is here with me, to support me, and help me be my true self. She's seriously very awesome. Thank you, Pride Counseling, for matching me with her. I am very grateful.
