Hello! My name is Carly and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oklahoma. I received a master's degree in counseling with a concentration in trauma, abuse and deprivation from Ottawa University. I have worked with individuals and families to help them overcome the impact of stressful or traumatic experiences. I believe that people deserve the chance to heal and move past negative experiences. I work from a trauma informed perspective to help empower people of all ages to be able to pursue their personal life goals. I work to help people understand how the brain and body work so that they are able to take more control over their lives and experiences, not just now, but also in the future.
I like to combine empathy and logic when working with people. I view the role of a counselor to be a guide to help people through how to ask the right questions so that they are able to find the answers that they really need to get the outcomes that they really want. People are unique and the answer for each person will be different even when facing similar challenges. Counseling can be the process of going through a current challenge and learning how to face future challenges as well.

I’ve been working with Carly Hill since February 2021 off and on, and she has been amazing throughout my Better Help journey. She is very very flexible, and does not pressure me to have a video or phone session when I am not comfortable.
Throughout our therapeutic relationship, Carly has been very patient with me, and allowing me to set the therapeutic environment. She does not pressure me to talk about things that I am not ready to talk about at that time. She allows me to say what is on my mind, without judgement or criticism.
With the knowledge of Carly‘s training, I am slowly starting to work through the very complex traumatic experiences that I’ve had throughout my life. Carly approaches each session with the understanding that I might take a while to open up about things, and that’s OK. Carly will often not only ask how I’m feeling emotionally, but will also ask me how I am feeling within my body physically. This shows me that Carly Hill is highly trained in the field of trauma, and the physical and emotional effects that trauma can have on a person.
I’m able to message Carly when I need to, and I know that I will receive a well thought out response to my messages. Carly will also suggest coping skills that I can use to help me feel better.
After each session, Carly takes the time to write up a summary of what we covered that session, and I find that very helpful in looking back on throughout my therapy experience.
I would highly recommend Carly Hill to anyone who is looking for a caring, patient, and qualified trauma informed therapist. Without Carly‘s knowledge, training, and experience working with those who have complex childhood trauma, I would not have begun to uncover things that I never would have attributed to my trauma before.

Carly has been exceptional support to me. She actively listens to me and offers feedback. She checks in to see how I’m doing and that reassures how caring she is.

In just two sessions, Carly has done an amazing job at listening, framing issues, and making connections with a precision that amazed me. I look forward to our future sessions.

This is my first time in therapy, and Carly has made that process easy, without stress or pressure. She gives me the space to talk things out but also provides great advice and sees things from perspectives I hadn't considered. It has been a great experience so far and I highly recommend Carly.

Carly Hill is a wonderful counsellor, and you can tell that she genuinely cares and wants her clients to be as happy as possible. She offers sessions through phone and video calls, but I often stick to messaging her, as I am not a fan of phone calls. I truly appreciate how Carly respects my boundaries, and never pushes me to do a video call if I am not feeling up to it. As an introvert who struggles with a busy schedule, being able to message my counsellor whenever I need is extremely helpful. It relieves the stress of having to commit to an appointment. Carly always responds in a timely manner, and provides me with resources to help me combat whatever mental health challenges I am facing. I have been using Carly for about seven months now, and I definitely see an improvement in my mental health and coping skills. Would definitely recommend both Carly Hill and BetterHelp to a friend.

I found it extremely helpful to be able to message or email at the time when i was having an issue. Even if it was during off hours because I was able to express my thoughts in that moment and my counselor was able to understand what I was feeling and help me process during our talks. She was very supportive and truly helped me find my way to a better place so that I could regain my clarity when things became overwhelming.
