About me

I am a LIMHP and have been a therapist for about 15 years. I specialize in working with folks with anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, family situations, interpersonal situations, and overwhelming emotions.

My counseling style is eclectic and direct. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, and mindfulness therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you on your journey.

I do want to share with you that I am dyslexic, and I have found that live chatting is not a way I can be really effective as a therapist. I am comfortable communicating via messaging, but unfortunately I am not able to offer live chat. I prefer to offer both live phone, and live video sessions.

I look forward to working with you!

Carmen is the best therapist I've ever had.

Carmen is always kind, friendly, and courteous. She genuinely listens with her heart to what I have to say, and takes the time to explain things in a way I understand. She allows herself to be human during sessions, which makes me a million times more comfortable, and reminds me that there are still good people out there. Every session we’ve had, has left me feeling better than I did going into it. I genuinely look forward to speaking with her every week.

Carmen is a great therapist. She is positive and helpful, but firm and direct when needed. Carmen cares about her clients and goes out of her way to check in between appointments when she knows you’re having a hard time. I’ve found it difficult to open up to therapists in the past, but Carmen’s warm demeanor and cheerful smile made me feel safe to express myself. I’ve learned so much about myself and what I want from life in the time that I’ve been seeing Carmen. I’m so grateful to have found a therapist that challenges me, cheers for my successes, and supports me through my lowest of lows. I cannot recommend Carmen enough!
