Hi, I am so glad you have decided to take a step in healing from your past.
I specialize in working with people who grew up in families where there was some type of instability or turmoil. This could have been from addiction, mental health, abuse, neglect, anger, poverty, foster care placement, religious trauma or anything that caused some form of trauma. Oftentimes times those who grew up in this type of situation feel responsible for it or that somehow they should have fixed it and carry these feelings of guilt into adulthood.
You may be struggling with some form of addiction, self-sabotage, self-harm, shame/guilt, co-dependency, the trauma of past abuse, or you may currently be in an abusive situation. Do you find yourself asking "Why does this keep happening to me"? You know something has to change, but you just don’t know how to make it happen. If you are ready for that change I am here to help guide you on a healing path.
I believe in the human potential to grow and change. We are amazing creatures and can overcome severe adversity. Sometimes what we need is someone to truly see us, to understand our pain and to be able to stand in it with us until we can move through it. I can stand with you and help you move through your pain. You are not too much and your emotions are not too much.
Our first session is chance for you to express anything that is concerning you. It is the start of our roadmap to working together.
I like to use this analogy: Therapy is like using a GPS when driving. You are in the driver's seat so to speak and I am like the GPS. I will offer suggestions on which route appears the best to get you to your destination but you are free to choose another route, make a detour, or change the final destination. I just ask that you communicate this to me so we are both working on the same plan.
In addition to working with those who have experienced childhood trauma I also specialize in working with adults involved in non-traditional relationships such as kink/BDSM, polyamory, & open relationships.
I have worked with many clients dealing with issues of sexual or gender identity or those belonging to the LGBTQ+ population that want an open minded nonconservative therapist.
Additional areas of focus:Stress, Anxiety, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Intimacy-related issues, Parenting issues, Anger management, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes, ADHD, Abandonment, BDSM, kink, and alternative sex culture, Body image, Codependency, Communication problems, Control issues, Dissociation, Drug and alcohol addiction, Family of origin issues, Forgiveness, Gender dysphoria, Guilt and shame, Impulsivity, Life purpose, Mood disorders, Personality disorders, Polyamory / non-monogamous relationships, Self-harm, Self-love, Sex addiction, Sexual assault and abuse, Sexuality, Women's issues
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Carrie Glebe. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
TY!

Carrie has great practical tools for people who suffer from clinical anxiety. She listens and provides tools appropriate for the situation or thought process to alleviate the anxiety. In the weeks I’ve worked with her my anxiety levels have gone down, thanks to the tools and exercises she has provided, and those exercises have helped change my thought processes in ways that will undoubtedly offer relief for anxiety in the long term. Your mind can trap you into a cage of worry, Carrie can help you find the keys to help you get out.

Working with Carrie over the past few months has been very rewarding. She is empathetic and holds space for you in a supportive fashion. She is also super practical, helping you unpick any situation to provide perspective and steps forward.
I have seen tangible improvement in the way I see and understand myself and my behaviours and in the way I now notice, reflect on and modify them to be an overall happier and more self accepting person.
I whole-heartedly recommend Carrie and would work with her again.

Carrie is the best therapist I have ever had. She spends her time trying to assist in going forward past trauma rather than have one overanalyze and wallow in it.

Carrie has been helping me for a short while now, and after struggling to find a good match, she is someone I can genuinely trust to help me. She goes above and beyond checking the usual telehealth boxes, takes her work seriously, and is easily comparable to non-online counseling. She is very thoughtful about potential triggers and providing/building a safe environment for healing.

Carrie is very responsive and supportive. Though we are still at the beginning of our session but being responsive and supportive is very important for the online counseling, therefore I recommend her and we are still on going. She gives also good recommendations to my needs. Thank you
