About me

Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Catherine and I am here to help and support you move forward if I can.

I am a level 7 multi heritage licensed therapist in the UK, with over 4 years of professional work experience, education, and training. I have experience in helping clients in many different areas including ADHD, GAD, loss and grief, Depression, Anxiety, Isolation, Relationships, and much more.

I am more than happy to work with any ethnic background or culture, because whilst counselling is primarily focused around the client, it is also good experience and beneficial for therapists to familiarise themselves with other’s racial ethnicities and cultural backgrounds, so we can appreciate and respect those differences.

Through continued personal and professional development I took the leap to open my own successful clinical practice so that I could help more clients. I take each of my clients on an individual basis and afford each of my clients the same level of commitment and respect they deserve.

If you do contact me and you do not get an immediate response, please bear in mind that I shall be in session with another client but I will always get back to you as soon as I become available.

I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment, and together we work to resolve issues.

I encourage my clients to book a live session with me so that we can familiarise ourselves with each other and I can obtain an understanding and clearer perspective of my clients issues. From that initial interaction I shall always get to work setting my clients obtainable goals, so they can challenge themselves. Or I may ask my clients to complete worksheets suitable to their issues, the aim being to raise more of an awareness to the presenting problem, then we can get to work solving the problem and bringing about positive change.

I appreciate counselling and therapy can be a worrying experience but “If you always do what you have always done, then you will always get what you have always got”.

Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Catherine Kearns. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Catherine has been great with me. Fantastic therapist who you can be open and honest with. Catherine is truthful to the situation and doesn’t just tell you what you want to hear. I’ve only had 3 sessions so far, but I can start to feel difference already. Would highly recommend Catherine.

To this day, Catherine remains genuine, caring, and supportive in every area I have struggled with. This includes assisting me with studying for my theory test by addressing my nerves and anxiety, as well as offering better explanations to questions I didn't fully understand.

It has taken some time, but I am now beginning to notice changes in my daily life and I am looking forward to continuing my work with her to help me get to where I need to be!

Catherine and I have been working together for the past two weeks and I already feel clearer on the steps I need to take to improve my thought processes and communication style with my family, friends and partner.

Catherine has supported me so much. She has helped me start on the path to healing anxiety and has given me guidance on how to stand up for myself and my boundaries.
Catherine is kind and a great listener. She always responds to messages with the right advice and always has me and my mental health and safety as a priority and will advise as such.
She is someone I can trust to open up to and not feel shy to share what is going on for me

I´ve been working with Catherine since the past two weeks. Although it´s been recent, she´s spot on with particular questions and I´m looking forward to my continued work with her on this journey.

Catherine was able to provide practical tools during every session for me to take away and put into practice. She is very solutions focused and helps you to quickly get to the root cause of issues and work through them. Catherine is a friendly and supportive face every week who has helped me in a very short space of time. I would highly recommend Catherine!
