About me

Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Catherine and I am here to help and support you move forward if I can.

I am a level 7 multi heritage licensed therapist in the UK, with over 4 years of professional work experience, education, and training. I have experience in helping clients in many different areas including ADHD, GAD, loss and grief, Depression, Anxiety, Isolation, Relationships, and much more.

I am more than happy to work with any ethnic background or culture, because whilst counselling is primarily focused around the client, it is also good experience and beneficial for therapists to familiarise themselves with other’s ethnicities and cultural backgrounds, so we can appreciate and respect those differences.

Through continued personal and professional development I took the leap to open my own successful clinical practice so that I could help more clients. I take each of my clients on an individual basis and afford each of my clients the same level of commitment and respect they deserve.

If you do contact me and you do not get an immediate response, please bear in mind that I shall be in session with another client but I will always get back to you as soon as I become available.

I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment, and together we work to resolve issues.

I encourage my clients to book a live session with me so that we can familiarise ourselves with each other and I can obtain an understanding and clearer perspective of my clients issues. From that initial interaction I shall always get to work setting my clients obtainable goals, so they can challenge themselves. Or I may ask my clients to complete worksheets suitable to their issues, the aim being to raise more of an awareness to the presenting problem, then we can get to work solving the problem and bringing about positive change.

I appreciate counselling and therapy can be a worrying experience but “If you always do what you have always done, then you will always get what you have always got”.

Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Catherine Kearns. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Highly recommend. I’ve had counselling before in my 20’s and 30’s and met some counsellors that are a waste of time/a sound board, finding a diamond in the rough is what Catherine is. If you have the opportunity to have her as your counsellor, grab it! She is well educated, highly emotionally intelligent, confident, and instills that in me too. I am already gaining so much knowledge and being explained other skills that I can utilise - from only 2 sessions, I am already seeing a difference within my life. Thank you Catherine.

Catherine is clearly extremely capable, qualified and experienced. I also believe her to be right fit for me for manifold reasons, and that is obvious even after the first session. Aside from her professional skill, Catherine is also very friendly, straightforward and easy to talk to.

I've only had one session - and after it I thought Catherine was amazing. She gave me hope that I can figure my problems out and I have every confidence in her.

Catherine is an amazing therapist that is so good at what she does. She listens, gives advice and responds fast. If you need to rely on someone let it be her because she honestly is amazing at giving advice and helping others.

Catherine has been a brilliant person to talk to. Catherine has been empowering but has also challenged me and introduced me to different ways of thinking. Catherine is a very relatable person who shows no judgement. Catherine does open up about her own viewpoints on situations but I think this makes her a more relatable person.

Catherine has been great with me. Fantastic therapist who you can be open and honest with. Catherine is truthful to the situation and doesn’t just tell you what you want to hear. I’ve only had 3 sessions so far, but I can start to feel difference already. Would highly recommend Catherine.
