Catherine McCubbin, LCPC
About me
So many people have come to my office thinking they were "weak," or that their problems were too "stupid" or small for counseling. I have made it my mission to help people understand and have compassion for themselves, even when the world tries to tell them otherwise. Only when starting from a place of self-compassion can people understand the the life they've lived so far, the kind of life they want in the future, and the choices they need to make to bridge that gap.
I have extensive experience in mood disorders, anxiety, and addiction as well as many general problems of living. I see my role as that of a facilitator helping people tap into their own potential for growth and change. As a therapist, I challenge people and ask them to take risks--"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always get."
I've worked with people in college, people in jail, and almost everyone in between. In my spare time I enjoy music, movies, and the transformative power of nature.

Within two months Catherine has helped me with my anxiety and fixing my relationships with my family. She has helped me understand myself a lot better when it comes to how I communicate with others as well as how I look at myself. I would one hundred percent recommend her. She is knowledgeable, understanding, and most of all she really looks at each situation differently and doesn’t just give you an easy fix.
