About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) in Colorado with over 10 years of experience. I have worked with a wide variety clients throughout my career to include those struggling with parenting concerns, those diagnosed with a mental illness, those struggling with a substance addiction and those facing incarceration.

I believe that you are the expert on you. I will walk alongside you as you embark on this journey of change. I see the role of a counselor to encourage and empower you towards change. I will offer you tools, a listening ear, will ask you questions and will challenge your thinking patterns. My approach combines cognitive behavioral, strength based, and solution focused counseling. With that, I am able to customize our work together to meet you where you are and help move you towards your goals.

I am proud of you for taking the first step in this journey. Reaching out for help can often be scary and overwhelming but you did it. I have hope for you, even if you are not able to see that hope for yourself.

Cathleen Owens is the best therapist I could ask for. She responds to me in a timely matter, knows what my primary concerns are, and offers a variety of ways to communicate ( i.e. messaging, video call, etc.) and is always so kind and supportive. I would recommend Cathleen Owens to anyone looking for a therapist with expertise.

Cathleen is great. She listens and cares with great intent and respect. And she calls me on my nonsense when needed. Truly the best.
