Hello! My name is Charlene and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia. I earned a Masters of Arts in the area of Counseling in December 2011. Throughout the duration of my career, I have worked with a diverse populations, but absolutely enjoy working with adolescents, teenagers and young adults.
My professional experience has consisted of providing clinical mental health, crisis interventions, and case management within non-profits shelters, detention/secured facility, health clinic; inpatient and outpatient settings; and within a community sector. I have worked with adolescents, teenagers and adults of all ages on issues ranging from depression, anxiety, anger management, trauma, phase of life changes, relationship troubles, and much more.
I have a genuine passion for helping people and I have an approachable demeanor that makes me less intimidating and welcoming to those with whom I work with, thus easily build therapeutic rapports. My primary therapy orientation is person-centered, inasmuch as I strongly believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is vital for client growth. I feel that in order to maintain client authenticity, the clients need to be heard valued and understood. While I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy it allows a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. It is my goal is to help my clients change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people's difficulties, and so they can change the way in which one feels.

Couldn’t have picked a better therapist! This was my first time in therapy and Charlene made me feel so at ease, comfortable being vulnerable, and understood. I appreciate her straightforward yet gentle approach.
